Fourth of July...Cowboy Style!

Happy July! We're still having a blast here in Knoxville. I've been able to go to some play groups here at church. We went swimming the other day and it was a lot of fun. Bianca LOVES the water (plus her bathing suit is too cute).

So our 4th of July adventure begins We went to Nashville, and changed time zones apparently haha. Crazy it's like an hour and a half away maybe and it's a whole new time zone.

July 1st <3 anniversary="anniversary" b="b" happy="happy" sealing="sealing">

So this is the first year since we've been sealed that we couldn't go to the temple for lack of a babysitter, sad. So we just drove to the Nashville one and walked around it and took pictures. I suppose it was the second best option.

Nashville's pretty crazy and kinda traffic-y. And humid. Knoxville is not like that. I like Nashville, but I think I prefer Knoxville.  Our hotel is in a great place because everything is walkable from it, score! So that night for dinner I pleaded to go to the Neely's BBQ, which was AH-MAZINGGGG! Totally the best BBQ I've ever had and Bobby said the sides were wicked good too. And Bianca amused herself well there. Win. Win. WIN! Then we just explored downtown Nashville where the fireworks were gonna happen and then hug out in our hotel, yay!

July 2nd

Today we ate lunch with Rachel and Alex, who just moved there from DC, yay! We missed them! It was a lot of fun to catch up. Maybe we'll be neighbors next year hehe. Then we toured the Grand Ole Opry, which was really cool actually. We saw some dressing rooms and got to go on stage and everything. I was impressed with the tour. Bobby and I made a random decision to go to the Grand Ole Opry show that night, so we were kinda excited. It'd be an interesting experience for sure.

Someone in a cowboy had came up to Bianca and was scarred for her life! I don't think she's a fan of big hats...poor thing haha. We had time to kill between the tour and the show, so we walked around and went into this indoor mall in this huge hotel (since it was SOOO hot out!). We went on a boat ride in there and then watched a fountain show (which little girl LOVED!)

At night we saw the show! We were a bit worried about Bianca and how she'd fare during it, but despite all of the loud music, the silly little girl fell asleep! I couldn't believe it! That was nice for us though haha. It was a nice evening, even though she did wake up a bit cranky towards the end.

July 3rd

Another exploring day!  We went to the Parthenon that is a replica of the one in Athens. Weird, but cool! We got there too early, so we had to wait outside in the hot hot heat to be let in. Luckily there was...AN ICE CREAM TRUCK that conviently drove by! And I got my first ice cream treat from an ice cream truck. Only took 26 years lol. And luckily Bianca was sleeping so she didn't care that we were eating without her.

It was neat inside when they finally let people in. They had a museum there too that we looked it. It was a neat thing to go to to pass the time away, definitely unique to TN haha.

Then we walked around more downtown and decided to eat dinner at Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville, which we've been to before and found to be quite tasty. They had a dude on stilts walking around making balloon animals and things for kids. He made Bianca one and she did not know what to do with it. It was really funny. She actually lost it later on, but she had fun with it while it lasted, just being amazed that she got this awesome present from this huge dude.

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!

Today was the exciting day! So we (stupidly) thought that we could just drive back after the fireworks tonight and it was be good, but we realized how stupid that idea was after seeing all the crazy traffic around there. Plus we wouldn't be home til like 12-1am. So we decided to stay one more night in our hotel and just leave really early the next morning, which was super smart. So we just walked around some more, bought Bianca a little ball that she absolutely LOVES!,

Later on in the afternoon we found a good spot and sat to watch the concert before the fireworks. They had boats in the water spewing red and blue water, an orchestra performed, a group that we watched on the Sing Off was there, which was awesome, and then Darius Rucker, from Hootie and the Blowfish, was the main act. We couldn't see much since we didn't want to wait outside all day with a 7 month old, but we had a good spot to at least see the fireworks. Bianca liked the music though and danced along to some of the songs!

But the fireworks were AMAZING! Surprisingly Bianca loved them! She wasn't scared by the loud noises, she was just amazed by them. The only part she didn't like was getting back in her stroller again to fight the crowds to leave the downtown area. But on the upside, she went right to sleep as soon as we got back to the hotel. Thank goodness we stayed that extra night! And we got home with perfect timing so that Bobby could get to work on time, yay! Thanks for the awesome times, Nashville!
