A Birthday Trip to Our New Fave City, Charleston, SC!

September 6th

We headed out today after Bobby got home from work and Bianca from preschool. This is what the kids and I were up to before we left.

This trip was going to be a new experience for us- Bianca was going to wear UNDERWEAR the whole car ride! *gulp* It went rather well though! We stopped at at Mickey D's to let her go, and then she was good until we got a bit into SC, where we stopped at some general store. She had figured out in that short time that we will stop the car and get out every time she said she had to pee. We stopped after this request because she obviously was just getting bored in the backseat. We crossed the bridge in Charleston and it was BEAUTIFUL!!!

We stayed at a Holiday Inn in the middle of the road, and it was awesome! Great location and it had awesome views. That night we didn't do much, we set off to find this supposedly good Mexican place, and it was good, and then went back and just hung out for the rest of the night.

September 7th

Today was to be our busy day! We woke up and ate our free buffet breakfast. It was upstairs and had awesome views! I love this hotel!

Our first adventure of the day led us back to the bridge. There's a part of it where you can walk up it! It was a little bit hot out, but we said what the heck and did it anyways! I forgot the camera in the car, so Cam and I went back to get it, so we trailed behind Bobby and Bianca, but we all made it and it was awesome! It'd be fun to walk/run it regularly if we lived there.

My "View From A Bridge" haha

Next, we stopped at a park and played on a playground. It was a really nice park. Bianca had fun playing on the playground while Cam and I enjoyed some time in the shade. He loved playing with the grass with his toes, silly boy!

After the park, we drove around and decided to visit this huge tree called the Angel Tree. The kids were alseep, so we just drove around until we got there. That was really pretty too! We woke Bianca up and checked out the tree. We took some pics around it and got a magnet at the gift shop.

We were STARVING by this point, so we went to this pizza place that I found online. It was amazing! We got a margarita deep dish pizza. It was huge, but we ate it! YUM! Then we headed back to the hotel to get our bathing suits on!

We drove to the beach and found parking, which was pretty hard to find. I love SC beaches, man! They have the soft white sand and are picture perfect. Not too wavy so the kids could go into the ocean pretty far without it being too deep. Can we just stay here???

We stopped at a yummy ice cream place that made homemade ice cream on the way back to the hotel. Even Bianca got to have a little bit of strawberry ice cream, lucky girl. We were just hanging out at the hotel when what do we hear, but this huge BANG BANG! It scared us, so we looked out the window and what did we see? FIREWORKS!!! Just for my baby's birthday ;) What a nice surprise!

September 8th

Our last day here, boo! We got up early, ate, and got ready for church...but it must have been stake conference weekend or something because no on was there. Boo!!!

Since we were up, dressed, and in the area anyway, we went to this neat pier/park in Mt. Pleasant (where church was) and just walked around and explored. We saw a bunch of people fishing and one guy even showed Bianca one of his fish, which scared her once she saw it. Wish I got that reaction on video ;)

We went back to the hotel at this time to change out of church clothes and headed off to explore downtown. We went to the children's museum first. Well, you know the drill, here's our children's museum pictures.

We had a coupon for an Italian place nearby, so we walked over to it. Unfortunately, it was fancier inside than we thought, but we still ate there anyways. The kids weren't that bad though, and the food was yummy! Score! We walked around downtown in the market place there. It was SO cool! One of the best downtowns we've been to. This is why Charleston is our dream city. We WILL live there someday, hopefully not too far on down the line. Our last stop was to get cupcakes at this awesome place. They were really good. Seriously, can we just move here now??? Our drive home was fine, and overall it was an awesome birthday weekend for my awesome birthday boy. WE LOVE YOU, DADDY!!!

Strong Man and Healthy Girl

If our kids could have superhero names, those would be it for sure. Mr. Cameron is getting stronger by the day. He was always super strong, even pushing on my belly wicked hard in the womb, but now he is starting to learn to crawl! He has been doing the push-up/plank stance for a while, but now he's up on all 4's, ready to try this whole crawling thing. Bah! I'm not ready for it hehe. Bianca is loving her school. Her teacher said she hasn't been eating much at lunch time though. :-/ She's not used to eating burgers and pasta and stuff, normal toddler facorites. I guess I feed her a little bit TOO healthy here. Bobby's doing fine at work. His work schedule is great. On M W F we drop him off at work and then I take Miss Bianca to school. He works on Tuesday nights at the school, so we have to grab him at night, but it's not bad. We're thankful for his job! He also has an interview on his birthday to get a paid position at B&GC! Woohoo! That means his birthday trip will be a week earlier, but it's all good. As for myself, I'm fine, loving my time with Cameron on M W F, and hanging out with my sweet girl the rest of the time. Here's a bunch of pics and videos of our little superheros, Stong Man Cameron and Healthy Girl Bianca!

She won't eat the slop at school, but she'll steal my salad at home, psshh!!

My New School, Mi Escuela Nueva!

School has started in Wilmington! Bobby is taking two classes, and they seem pretty easy (well of course, coming out of Cornell). And our princess is starting preschool! Aw! She needs this. She longs to be around other kids and I think this will be very good for her. She is also super smart, so hopefully she'll get a lot out of this. She's only going M W F half days, which isn't bad. Give Cam and I time to hang out and to get errands done with only one little one...that still sleeps in his carseat, even though he is getting heavy in that thing, but still, SCORE! She was so excited to be dropped off that day, and didn't really get sad when I left her. Her teacher, Ms. Tia, seemed really nice. We're excited for you, Bianca!

It's been nice hanging out with Cam while she's at school though! We roll around, he eats, and I get to catch up on my shows haha.

Isn't his bald spot cute?? hehe

Here are some more cute pics of our kids and their sillyness.

Singing Sophia The First

Cameron should be quite the athlete someday. He's already doing pushups and planks better than me!

On Saturday we decided to take a walk around the UNCW campus so daddy could show us where he works. Well we didn't plan on it being as hot as it was, but it was super hot. Yuck. We made it across campus to his office though. It was in the education building. It was cute inside! Then daddy got the car and drove us home so we wouldn't all have to brave the stinking heat. What a good man! <3

He was sleeping, but this is in front of Cameron Hall, haha!

I shall leave you with a cute picture and video for your enjoyment. ;)
