We woke up and drove to church this morning in Council Bluffs, Iowa. It was an alright ward. Then we hit the road and visited the Kanesville Tabernacle. A nice old missionary couple showed us around.
road tripping is exhausting!
After changing and feeding Micah, we were on our way to South Dakota! We ate at a Taco John's along the way, and it was pretty good fast food Mexican food actually. We drove and drove and drove until we hit Sioux Falls. Bobby loved the 85 mph speed limit LOL!!!
We dropped our junk off at our hotel (which was awesome because it was a suite, with a separate room for us adults-plus Micah) and went out to eat with my cousin Sara and her husband Gunnar and daughter Annika. It was a place called Braccos. It was expensive, but really good. I had a salad with fruit and seared tuna. SO GOOD! I hadn't seen Sara in over 10 years, so it was nice to see her again and meet her cute little family! Her husband was so nice and her little girl was really cute. :)
both Sara and I took pics of our food. It was too cute not to, LOL!
After dinner, we decided to go to Cherry Berry for dessert and to hang out a bit. It was fun, and a little hectic trying to keep all the kiddos (well, OURS anyways, hahahaha!) in one place haha. But it was nice to hang out and stuff. On our way out, Bianca took Annika's hand and Sara was like "she doesn't even hold our hands!!" Hopefully Bianca was teaching her to start holding hands with her parents. ;) Then we just went back to the hotel and hung out for the night
June 15th
The next day, Gunnar was working, so we went out and explored Sioux Falls on our own. We went to Falls Park, which was SUPER cool, but smelled so bad! YUCK! At least it was pretty. We climbed around and took tons of pics.
wearing my shoes, haha
squishy grass
Then we drove to the downtown area for lunch. Sara suggested Minerva's to eat at, and it was good. A bit pricey and we were scared it was gonna be super fancy, but there were other kids there and it was loud in there, so it was a success. It had a good salad bar for Bobby, which rocked. The pizza the kids got was amazing too! Then we just walked around downtown and checked out all of the cool art sculptures there. Bianca was getting a bit bored and was tired of walking, so I made up a game where she had to pose at every statue and I would take her picture. She took that as "I'm gonna imitate every statue and make it HILARIOUS!" And that it was, LOL!
daddy got in on the action
MY FAVORITE, HAHAHAHA!
We swung by the hotel then (and it's awful because there was construction around there, so the entrance to the hotel was blocked half of the time by people re-doing it. UGH) and decided to go up to the Corn Palace an hour away, since Annika was sleeping (Bianca kept asking "Is Annika done doing a nap?" LOL) and Gunnar wasn't home yet. The Palace...well. Yeah. Not worth the drive. But we can say we went. It was kinda neat. We got some popcorn, which made the oldest 2 littles happy. We looked around, and left. 2 hours of driving for that LOL. Oh well.
Then we went over to Sara's house for dinner. It's such a cute house! We sent the guys to get us dinner and Sara showed me her house and I got to pet some of her kitties. I miss having cats, haha! When the guys left, we took the kids outside and played. Annika was so cute with Micah rolling around on a blanket with him. Cameron kept running into other people's yards, haha. Silly boy! When they guys came back we ate and hung out until about 830 with the littles got tired. It was so nice seeing Sara and meeting her family! Sioux Falls was cooler than I thought! Still too cold for me, but I could live in a place like that for sure! :)
Trying to get better at getting pics with people lol
