Erikobby's World: Georgia Goodbyes

When we were on our last day of the road trip, we got a call from Bobby's dad, who was out in GA saying that Granny was not doing well at all and was going into a hospice. We knew we didn't have much time, and had to go see her, so instead of exploring Kansas, we drove right home, did a load of laundry, and left for GA. It was crazy, but we're SO SO SO glad we did it. We stopped at a Braum's and got the cookies Granddaddy likes and then ate at Popeye's on the way and it wasn't too bad! We got to the hotel half way to GA at like 11pm, blah.

We just drove and went straight to the hospice! It was too late to bring everyone in, so Bobby went in to see Granny. Then we drove back to the house for the night. The place is a good 30-45 mins away from their house.

Well happy sealing anniversary to us! 7 years!!! Anyways, today started off bad. For us anyway. We all go out the door and the door locks behind you. Just as Bobby was shutting the door I asked if he got the car seat for Micah....which was a big NOPE! So Bobby took the older two and set off for the hospice to get the keys from Granddaddy and then came back to get Micah and me. Luckily it was early in the morning and not hot yet. Micah had fun playing on his blanket on the porch. So that was a stressful adventure to say the least.

We finally got to the hospice and went in. It is a nice place! Even had a toy room for the kids to play in. Cameron's favorite thing to do was take walks with Grandpa down to the pond lol. Bobby's cousin from SC and his family drove up, so it was like a whole mini family reunion, a really crappy reason to have one, but it was nice to see everyone. We all went to Golden Corral to eat. Bianca loved that she got to eat cotton candy with her cousins! She loved seeing them too! We were happy Granny got to meet Micah boy today! Didn't get a pic because we didn't think it was appropriate, but they did say hi to each other! Then we went home for the night.

We didn't lock ourselves out today! lol. We all went to the hospice today. Matt and his family had to leave today, so we let the kids play together before they left. It was a normal day. Granny was hanging in there. Poor Granddaddy looked like a wreck. Then we went back home early afternoonish and did our normal watching of the Braves and talking to the Hall men. my favorite quote came from Granddaddy who said about Bianca "She always talks to me. But I never know what she is sayin'" LOL!

Since we have loud kids, we decided that I would stay home with the kids and Bobby would go to the hospice with everyone. We already felt like we were being a pain to Granddaddy with all the kids crying in the middle of the night and how loud we are, we didn't want to inconvenience them more. So they went and had a nice visit. We stayed home and hung out. Got lunch. Then hung out at night. Bianca and I went to Kroger to get some fireworks at night, so that was cool.

Happy 4th of July? We did the same plan this morning again, us at home, them out. MICAH SAID MAMA TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!! The video does not do it justice, but yay!!! Love that boy!

We went and got McDonald's at the Walmart for the kids, since I wasn't sure when everyone was coming home. They had clearance clothes there for $1, which was AWESOME! :-P Everyone came home early actually, with chicken to eat, oops! We ate again anyways to be polite. :)

We decided to go to this local church to see fireworks there. Eatonton is in the middle of nowhere, so options were few. This place was a few towns over, but worth it! They had inflateables for the kids, free ice cream and watermelon, and a fun atmosphere! We had a lot of fun actually!!

Bianca wanted me to take a pic with Daddy's PINK cone, LOL!

The fireworks were pretty good actually! The kids liked them too! Micah was a little perplexed, but there were no tears!

We decided that we stayed there for too long, didn't want to keep being an inconvenience, even though they say we weren't. Granny seemed to be doing stable, so we left today. So we journeyed home. Cam didn't want to eat at the restaurant, I think he was done with traveling. One month on the road is hard for the kids. We just got ice cream at night and relaxed in the hotel.
