Our Long Farewell To Wilmington (Literally)

We have left. Oh my goodness I am so sad, but so thankful to have the opportunity to come here. To have lived by a beach. And to have made friends with the most awesome people ever out here. Seriously, everyone in the ward was so nice to us, I will never forget my time out here. Enough gushing. Well, today was an interesting last day. Last night, we had Mandi come over and take all of our leftover food we couldn't pack up, which was awesome because I hate throwing away food. Then we just finished up packing. This morning we woke up bright and early and packed all of our sheets and pillows and last minute junk. The movers said they'd be over at 9, and they were...but it took them a half hour to try and park somewhere with their big truck lol. I should have known we were in for a long day when that happened. Then they came up...a pretty old and fragile looking dude and a younger guy. Yeah....Well they started loading stuff up and last time, it took a couple of hours and we were able to leave, so we figured the same this time, maybe 3-4 hours since we did have a little bit more stuff and we were on the 3rd floor. Yeah. Well time ticks away. As I'm packing up our trunk with last minute junk, I see them taking breaks (cause this guy is OLD and can't do it all himself, and neither can one other guy, no matter how young or strong he was). Seriously. Long. Breaks. Which I mean, I understand because it sucks moving from the stupid 3rd floor, but why did they assign this guy to do this??? Poor guy!

Well lunch time rolls along, then naptime and I've gotta return the cable box (which we THOUGHT we'd get to do on the way OUT of NC), so I did it. At this point, Cam was exhausted, and the only way he could sleep (since we already packed up his bed since we THOUGHT it'd take at the max 4 hours, we don't have THAT much junk) was on someone's lap, Daddy held him and I went out and returned the thing. I picked up milkshakes on the way home too because, well, apparently this was going to take a while. Pam texted me to say goodbye and I laughed and told her that we're still here and she couldn't believe it was taking them so long. It took so long that Bobby had to return the keys to the office before they closed while they were still moving us. That meant we couldn't lock up, but hey, there's nothing in there so whatever. Not our fault. Oh, then Cam was playing and knocked over our big lamp and broke it. Glass everywhere. So I took the kids in the bedroom and played while Bobby vacuumed. At least they kept that out for us. Apparently we had plenty of time to vacuum that day.

Know what time they FINALLY finished? 5:30!!! So from the time they got there, it took them 8.5 hours (well to be fair, they got here at 9, parked for a half hour and didn't start loading til 10, so 7.5 hours, but still!). WHAT THE HECK!!!!!!!! He said that he was going to make us a priority and get us our stuff right after we get back from our babymoon to Chicago, so let's hope so. So at almost 6 we FINALLY could leave!!

It is also Bianca's half birthday today. Happy 3.5 years sweetie pie!!!

One last ILM selfie for the road. :(

We love you Wilmington and the people from church therein. We hope to visit again sometime in the future. We're thankful that our crazy life journey brought us here and all the joy we experienced out here. Tulsa, here we come (ironically on the day Bobby and I met 9 years ago, who'd have thought we'd be moving back there??? Not I!)

We just drove for the rest of the night, stopping at a Bojangles on our way out. It was late when we got to the hotel, thanks movers. Ugh! Goodnight world and again, farewell Wilmington. You were good to us. <3
