Out To OK Part 3: Arkansas and Finally OK

We got to Hot Springs, Arkansas around dinner time, so we stopped to eat at this Mexican place that looked good. It was neat because they had a Mariachi band there, which Cameron would totally be into...except he wasn't today, of course. He was so awful this was meal number 2 that we had to take turns taking him out of the restaurant. But we ate and that's what matters, right?

It wasn't until we got to the hotel that we learned the reason of Cameron's meanness. He just had to poop!!! And he wouldn't do it unless he was "home" or in the hotel room. Oh. My. Goodness. Seriously, as soon as we got into the hotel and popped on the movie "Frozen" for the kids, he pooped and was back to normal! WHAT?!?!?! Crazy kid. Silly silly boy indeed. The hotel was neat since we had a suite. We put the kids out in the living room, so we got our room to ourselves that night, which was nice!

The next day was our explore Hot Springs Day! We packed up the car and headed out to the downtown area to see the actual springs!

We went to the bathhouses first! It was a really neat downtown area for sure. We did a self guided tour, and it was pretty cool.

Next we took a walk outside on the trails to see the actual springs and to touch them! Man, they WERE hot. It would be awesome to soak in them though. Maybe someday! Bianca hates anything hot, so of course she thought it was too hot. The walk was really nice. We took the short one because of the kids, but it was fun. Bianca did get her first set of scraped knees though. She was running down a hill with Daddy when she fell. Poor thing.

oklklll;;;;Next we walked to this cupcake place called "Fat Bottomed Cupcakes," which was featured on Cupcake Wars. It was so good, I'm glad we got to go!! Then we just walked back up to the car, because we wanted real food by that point. We drove to another good local Mexican place called Nom Noms. It had both Mexican food (burritos essentially)and homemade ICE CREAM!!! YES! We ate our food and yes, had a treat after. We got the rose flavored ice cream and it was amazing!!! Then we had to be on our way.

We had to do what us Halls do best and go to an observation tower! We drove up this huge mountain to get to it, and it was worth it. It was super pretty. Cam and Bianca had fun walking around inside the tower together. She would follow him around and try to hold his hand while he would try to run away from her and try to climb down the stairs haha. It was fun!

We were pretty exhausted after the tower, so we headed out to OK right after! Crazyness. The drive wasn't bad at all. We hit a crazy OK rainstorm when we were like an hour away, so that was pretty crazy, but other than that, it was smooth sailing.

We decided to stop at the house when we got to Jenks just because we were so excited to see our HOUSE! It was dark out and there were no lights on at the house (obviously), but our landlord said the key was up in one of the pillars. Well it was there, but Bobby accidentally knocked it off into the bushes, OF COURSE!! UGH! He tried to find it,but it was useless, so we just ended up going to the hotel that night.

We went to the house the next morning though, and we found the key! Success! We explored the house and it was cleaned up very nicely! The first thing Bianca wanted to do was run around in the back yard, so that we did!

Cameron had fun outside too, but he really liked looking at the air vents on the floor, silly child. We unloaded some junk from the car and went to Lowes to get some bug spray for the house, since we were already planning on staying in a hotel again. We got that and I took the kids to the hotel and Bobby stayed and sprayed the rest of the day. Can't believe we're here already. Bring it on new adventure!
