We decided to take one last trip while we are in this part of the country to the Outer Banks, NC. We drove up on Monday. It wasn't a bad drive at all, a little long once you got there, but that's because there's no highways anywhere near east coast beaches apparently. It was pretty though!
When we got there, we went right out to the beach! It's not as nice as SC beaches, more on par with Wilmington ones, but it was neat. Our hotel was under construction, which is why we got such a great deal on it, but it had a private beach, so that was cool.
So Mondays on the off season are awful days to find any food. We went to this pizza place that was supposedly pretty good, and it was. It was just awkward sitting in there because it was so small inside lol. And there were no high chairs, so Cam sat in a booth by himself for the first time, what a big boy!
We wanted some ice cream for a special treat after the pizza, but everything was closed. Ugh! We ended up just finding a Dairy Queen and getting that LOL! Bianca was just excited about the special treat, she didn't care what it was. Then we hung out in the hotel and planned our next day and a half there!!
May 13th
This was our only full day here, so we made it worth it! We spent our morning at the beach and in the pool (which was cold). We ate lunch at a good burrito place, and it was fabulous! After naptime, we went to a light house, but did not climb it because it was SO hot outside and I did not want to pass out like I did when I was pregnant with Bianca. Guess we just have to come back someday, darn. ;) It was neat though. We walked around, the kids appreciated that, and got a magnet for our travel fridge.
Near the light house, we saw a pretty park area, so even though it was SOOOOOO hot out, we walked around it for a bit anyways, and I'm glad we did because it was picture perfect! :)
The kitty that lives at the hotel, awwwww!!!

We left today, boo! But today was the first day this week that Duck Donuts has been open! Apparently they are amazing! They make your donuts fresh while you're waiting, and yes, it is as amazing as it sounds. I got a maple bacon one, and YUM!!! We totally ate like 2 donuts that morning each (Bianca got one too, don't worry). Then we set off to Kitty Hawk to see the airplane stuff there. It was all pretty neat. It was super hot out again, so being pregnant and being outside was not too fun, but I survived! We walked around and explored all of the Wright Brothers stuff there.
We huffed it up to the monument:
Drove to the museum:
And walked around outside at the museum:
We were so hot and tired by then that we decided not to go to the sand dunes. Kinda sad because they seemed really cool to go to, but it was already after 2 and would have been SOOO hot to walk on. We took pics of them as we drove past though!
Goodbye, OBX, we had fun!
