After we ate lunch with the family, we left for Mississippi! We just drove the rest of the day, nothing too exciting. The drive was pretty though with the green mountains in the background. We stopped at a rest stop in Alabama just to say we've been there (esp for Cameron, a new state for him!).
Our next stop was at a Sonic to eat dinner, and they had a playground there!!! How convenient! It was nice, especially for the kids, to get out and stretch our legs a bit.
We took the scenic route to the hotel and it was beautiful! The hotel we were staying at was actually on the University of Mississippi campus, which was a bit confusing to find, but we did do it eventually. We just relaxed the rest of the night.
The next day was our day to explore Mississippi. We decided to walk around campus for a bit, but it was so big. There wasn't really anything cool near us sadly (and it was so hot, esp for the pregnant lady!!), so we just walked back to the hotel after a few minutes.
We looked for somewhere cool to go and yummy to eat, so we went to this neat downtown area and parked. We got some fro yo first, because while on vacation, dessert comes first LOL. It was pretty good, Bianca agreed!
We walked around looking for a good place to eat. Cam was pretty cranky at this point, so we just decided on this Pizza place since it's his favorite food. We should have known it was going to be a disaster when they told us that we had to get sodas because the water was gross right now. Hmm...yeah. Bianca was fine, but man, Cam was SOOO cranky, he wouldn't even eat any pizza! We had to take turns taking him out of the restaurant. So that was fun. NOT! We set out then for our next stop in Arkansas! There was bad traffic on the way there though. It was at a complete standstill. Thank goodness for those 2 CDs we have for the kids to listen to, because that was the only thing making Cameron happy at that point. So traffic was SOOO bad, that this crazy truck decided to drive off the road, and tried to drive up this hill to the road at the top LOL!! It was pretty crazy. Of course I got a pic of it.
And we were on our way to Arkansas once the traffic cleared, hooray!
